The best activities to make weekends fun for your child
It’s not that difficult to keep your child away from gadgets if you get a little creative and keep them engaged on weekends. Here are a few cool ways to keep boredom at bay.
Plant a garden: There’s nothing more fun for little ones than getting their hands dirty with mud, playing water wars, or planting a little sapling. What’s more, being around the greens works as a great stress-buster too.
Explore the city: Outdoors always gets the little ones kicked. Act as if you are new to the city, and take your kids out to explore places such as museums, monuments, zoos and other places of attraction. Also try different cuisines at restaurants, just like a tourist.
Stargazing: Pack your bags and take a short trip to a quaint place just outside the city from where you can gaze at the night sky. Spot the stars and constellations, and read up about them together.
Bake together: Think colourful cupcakes, cookies and what not! Involve them in searching for easy recipes together, and then watch the little ones knead and punch the dough with their nibble fingers. The entire process of baking and decorating will keep them busy and entertained.
Organise a treasure hunt: The greatest boredom-buster of them all, it can be organised inside the house or in the backyard. Choose from different themes and style, and let your kid learn as they play along. It’s also a great way to get to know about your child’s interest.
